Describing Laryngeal and Pharyngeal Anomalies for the Speech Pathologist-Endoscopist (.35 Continuing Education Units) Course Overview: This live webinar provides the learner with examples and practice of describing the physical qualities and locations of various laryngeal and pharyngeal anomalies that can be encountered by a competent Speech Pathologist-Endoscopist during FEES and Videostroboscopy. The learner will practice writing descriptions in an articulate manner, using medical language, while staying within the scope of Speech-Language Pathology. Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of the webinar, the learner will be able to: - Visually identify laryngeal and pharyngeal anomalies as seen through a Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing or videostroboscopy. - Use appropriate terminology to describe laryngeal and pharyngeal anomalies while staying within the scope of Speech-Language Pathology. - Identify the characteristics and causes of laryngeal/pharyngeal anomalies. For whom is this webinar appropriate? This course is appropriate for any medical Speech-Language Pathologist practicing in the areas of dysphagia and voice. Prior experience with FEES and/or Videostroboscopy is encouraged but not a pre-requisite. Number of Participants: 15 Location: This is a live online course that will be offered through Zoom.
